Sun Park and new obstacle!!!

YES! Again we got a new obstacle to water in Sun Park.
It's quite wide and long A-frame with smal steps. Place is just after the first left kicker inside of the cable.

I was second who rode it, only Mike Varfolomeev did it before me. Well... he had really rights to make it, because he washed it.

Skate night in St. Petersburg 03.08.2012

I got invitation to this happening and of course I went.
Meeting place was Palace Square (square front of Hermitage museum), then 23:30 all skaters rode to Vosstaniya Square to 360 bar.
This guy who looks little bit young Stacey Peralta made the most cool turns in Palace Square.

Hermitage at night, in August we can't talk anymore about white nights.
Direction to 360bar...
Arrival to 360 bar!
The first 10 skaters got a free shot.

There were some beauties also in the skate group.
There were also some normal people in the 360bar.
Actually these guys are my workmates Mikko and Jouni, which I invite to join.
Riders Bar 360 is located to Ligovskiy Prospekt 39 and I recommend to visit, if you are in SPb.
Then we left by skates to the some other bar near of Gostiny Dvor. We rode really fast speed trought of the St. Petersburg center, just in the Nevski Prospekt between the cars and people.
It was so cool and awesome! I really felt myself young and free!))
I saw somebody was making video during our ride to Gostiny Dvor, it would be nice to see.

This guy just jumped over of some bum, which was sleeping in the street.

Vladimir explained something about his bad ollie.))

Even that night continued until 6am, I rode back to home by my longboard without any injuries.))

Ukkohalla Finnish Championships 2012

I didn’t plan to go to Finnish Championships at all (because I already hate contests), but when I had chance for other businesses to go to Finland I went also to Ukkohalla.
Ukkohalla is great place to relax, so clean and peacefully.

Ukkohalla is ski-resort in the winter, so there are lots of good cottages, apartments, Spa, sauna-world etc… around the cable. Prices are reasonable or even cheap, because summer is a low season for ski-resort.

Ukkohalla cable is the northernmost Rixen in the world; there were European Championships in 2009.

Cable is low and there is 4 pillars. This year they changed little bit shorter ropes and now cable is really good! There are lots of obstacles… all homemade. I liked a lot of kickers! Rooftop and fun-box are okay and all others… I didn’t like.))

Flat tricks are now easy to make, but in competition there was only one place to make good and big airtrick, other places you must sacrifice fun-box or kicker. Well… small air-tricks what they were mostly doing is possible to do something.  I wanted that format would be full round from starting place, but nobody wanted it. So route which is full of obstacles, we made almost only half round.))
Format was 2 runs and better will remain in effect.

I made really basic but clean run: nose-press on the first straight slider, tail back board slide and 360 out on dragon slider, transfer to nose-press and to blind out on fun-box, s-bend, switch backroll to revert, hs bs 360, scarecrow with mute. The last obstacle rooftop was closed, because it went broken during the contest.
I was 4th in open men category and I’m not satisfied to results and judging! )))

A few pictures of my run:

Calendar August 2012

Every month I'll publish new page for 2012 calendar. Save it, print it and tape to your wall! ;-)))))
...
August and lately without wetsuit. Picture is from St. Petersburg Championships, where I fell this kind of S-bend in finals.

St. Petersburg Championships 2012

Championships took a place already 21-22 of July. Weather forecast didn't look good, but we were lucky and forecast failed. It was great weather almost whole weekend and it was possible to ride without wetsuit.))
This time the whole route of cable was in use and really there wasn't chance to get to the podium, if you didn't make also good flat tricks.

Judges going to the "ireland" middle of the lake.
Almaz and S-bend to blind with tail grab (winner of the open men)
Boris Ogar sw bs 540
Me and S-bend, which I failed in finals.
My competition went well until final and the second last trick.
My run was: Sw ts fr 540, transfer to backboardslide to blind out on funbox, tail press 180 to blind out on long slider, backroll to revert, front flip with indy, toeside railey, backboard slide on rooftop, switch backroll to revert, sw gap fr 270 to tail press and 270 out on up and down slider, then s-bend I falled down and it was so near of the last pillar that they didn't allow to continue to the last kicker and my run was over.((
This way I was only 4th!
Nikita Petrov and huge KGB
Huan and great transfer bs 360 on funbox
Faces just before start!)))
Stasik
Anton
Some girl wakeboarders of St. Petersburg
Level of wakeskating was really high and we saw huge and difficult tricks. Here are a few of them from best trick competition:

Bs 180 indy

Huge bs 180
Almaz won by wakeboard open category and the best trick.
He took part also to wakeskate, but didn't get to the podium.
Maybe he needs at least new shoes!))
The best trick (hs bs 900 and whirley 5)
